Peshkar, a young elf from Canopy, is the son and grandson of active and capable adventurers. Peshkar himself is more skilled as a storyteller than an adventurer; in the nightly bedtime stories he tells his little brother, Xan, Peshkar often puts himself in his parents' place, inventing the story out of their adventures. He has a longstanding, completely unrequited crush on Malleth.

When Xan summons and is abducted by the Fire Lord Bahal, Peshkar has no choice but to go after him, taking the sword that belonged to his grandfather - a weapon he hardly knows how to use.
