Johanna is Josia's lost daughter, now a young woman. History does not relate when or how she was lost; only that Josia had to leave her behind. In Josia's vision, Johanna is wearing piratical garb identical to Josia's, suggesting that she served on her mother's crew. Johanna appears to be the only person in the world for whom Josia harbors any attachment or feeling at all.

Following the vision leads Josia and her crew to The Collector's castle, where Josia senses Johanna inside.
